Car Engine Parameters Visualization

One of Carberry possibilities is to read the car diagnostic values if connected directly to the OBD port.

After several researches on several cars we have outlined a table with the OBD standard codes for most car manufacturers. In this way, it is possible to request, through the Carberry daemon, the desired information to lay it out in a software.

At the moment we are trying to lay the values out using a PHP page and with cyclic Ajax calls to update the data.

The available values via OBD are several, such as:
  • Water Temp
  • Turbo Pressure
  • RPM
  • Speed
  • Air Temperature
  • Fuel level
  • Oil Temperature

All documentation as well as the SD image ready to be uploaded to Raspberry will be available in the coming weeks.

I have downloaded the new image...

Run it up... and it boots fine(I have yet to run it in the car - this will be later today).

Is there any way to exit the UI, and go back to a terminal prompt easily? I know I can SSH in, but it is a little painful.

Cheers,
AP.

Hi Powella,
To go back to the console you need just to press CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE to access to the console, login credential are the default.
Please remember to kill the application process =)

Hi,
I've downloaded the image, it boot fine, but connected to my car (Nissan Qashqai 2012), it has a strange behaviour... it's seem that carberry is reading wrong data (or is not reading at all) from the can bus, all values does not change if I turn on the car. For example, the value of speed is fixed at 220km/h, even if I'm still in the parking.

I've updated the carberry firmware at the latest version (1.05), and the carberry is connected to the Qashqai as show in http://www.carberry.it/wiki/carberry:hardware:obd:nissan.

Could you help me please? Maybe the carberry is not recognizing the right can bus profile? If so, what is the right profile and how can I force it on the carberry?

Thank you
Fabio

Got my Raspberry Pi 2 on order, and will shortly buy a carberry board, and the new 7" touchscreen. Very interested on this.

Any movement on it since 2014 when it was last updated?

thanks

Just starting this project to use a RPI2, Carberry and this Hitachi 12.2" screen in my 2003 VW New Beetle Cabriolet.

Realise I may hit an obstacle right out the gate which is that the VW New Beetle 2003 isn't on the compatibility list for the carberry!

Anyone got any ideas?

All help would be gratefully appreciated as I am new to all of this but very tech savvy.

Thanks!
