SEA J1939 protocol

Postby kasbrock » Mon Nov 13, 2017 11:56 am

I would like to use the Carberry to read out a crane using the SEA J1939 protocol. But instead of using a obd-2 port, it uses a 9-pin port. And I was wondering if the Carberry would support this when is would use a adapter, or if there is any way to make this work.
Thanks in advance

SAE J1939 protocol is based on CAN bus so you can manage it using Carberry.
Currently, no functionality dedicated to this protocol has been developed by us, but any communication can be made using the transmission and reception commands.

If you intend to approach this bus you must:
• identify the CAN H and CAN L connections in the 9-pin connector and try to understand the communication speed (possibly using an oscilloscope)
• Obtain the protocol specification and then develop software that uses the "user mode" Carberry commands that allow the transmission and reception of CAN messages.

Please, see: ... /user/open ... us/user/tx ... /user/mask ... ser/filter ... user/align
