Hi all,

I'm currently looking at installing a Pi in my old car as a learning exercise whilst making the car feel more modern.

I consider myself relatively techy and have been playing with Pi's (RetroPie, Pi-hole, VPN servers, torrent box's..) for some time. The area where I feel quite inexperienced with would be the electronics and wiring.

My ambition would be to install a device that can do the following:

Navigation
Media (primarily Spotify)
Rear camera

Nice to have features would be:

Front and Rear dash cam recording
Radio
Car Diag via OBD2 port

I think the first question would be if this can all be accomplished with CarPc in my car?

I am thinking of removing my car radio and mounting a 7-inch touch display around the cavity and will presumably need to wire the car speakers into an amp and DAC which can be plugged into the Pi?

Any comments or advice on the above points would be greatly appreciated along with any gotcha's I should consider before starting and buying parts.

As I mentioned previously I'm most uncomfortable with the electronics and wiring side of this project. Any good resources someone could recommend for me to become more familiar with whats involved?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Adam
